Aside from his hair color. We also met Rand's mother in the cold open, and she's just about the most ferocious, hardcore warrior that's ever been seen on TV. That means that now he really has to finally face the truth. And then Moiraine adding on to that, saying that whoever goes to the Eye of the World and was not the Dragon would die there. But for me, the big one was channeling for the first time, trying to protect Egwene. Knowing that, his real father might not be his father, those were little - or that is a big hint - but there were more hints like recognizing Dragonmount or being recognized as an Aielman. He was actively trying to reunite with his friends, trying to protect them.
He sees what's going on, and he saw what's going on with Mat. He was definitely not someone that follows blindly. So in Episode 1, he was the first one that was questioning Moiraine and standing up to her. Well, I think from the start of the season, Rand has always been showing this leader behavior.
Looking back through Season 1, were there any specific scenes you felt were a good preview of, or insight to, the man that Rand is going to become? But I didn't participate, really, in that.
